On the 10th of July 2024, I had the joy of photographing Megan and Rachel’s incredible beach wedding at Lusty Glaze in Newquay. Famous for its private cove, soft golden sands, and breathtaking views, Lusty Glaze is one of Cornwall’s most magical coastal venues — and it was the dream setting for Megan and Rachel, who travelled from Buckinghamshire to celebrate their love by the sea.

As a wedding photographer from Buckinghamshire, I love capturing weddings across the UK, and travelling down to Cornwall for this seaside celebration was an absolute highlight of my year.

An Emotional Start to the Day

The wedding began with a touching first look — just Megan and Rachel, seeing each other for the first time in their dresses. It was emotional, heartfelt, and set the perfect tone for the day.

Rather than following tradition, they walked down the aisle together, hand in hand, surrounded by their loved ones. With the ocean as their backdrop and the sound of waves rolling onto Lusty Glaze beach, their ceremony was relaxed, personal, and filled with emotion.

Confetti with a Twist & Ice Cream by the Sea

Megan and Rachel added so many fun, personal touches to their day. Instead of confetti, they had their guests throw colourful beach balls as they walked back down the sandy aisle — a playful, unique moment that had everyone smiling.

Their drinks reception was just as joyful, with beach games on the sand and sweet treats for guests, including traditional seaside ice creams. The relaxed atmosphere of Lusty Glaze weddings made everything feel effortlessly fun and authentic.

One of the most unforgettable parts of the day was exploring Lusty Glaze’s stunning beach and cliffside for Megan and Rachel’s couple portraits. With so many natural backdrops — from sandy shores to dramatic coastal rocks — we created photographs that felt timeless, relaxed, and full of joy.
