Mollie & Dan’s Joyful Autumn Wedding at Crockwell Farm October 28th, 2024

If you’re dreaming of an autumn wedding filled with warmth, laughter, and countryside charm, Crockwell Farm is one of Northamptonshire’s most beautiful venues. As a Crockwell Farm wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to capture many stories there — but Mollie and Dan’s October celebration was something truly special. Every part of their day, from the emotional morning prep to the sparkler send-off, was filled with personality, colour, and pure joy.

Morning Preparations

I arrived at Crockwell Farm as the sun was rising gently through soft October clouds — that perfect crisp autumn air filling the countryside. Both Mollie and Dan were getting ready onsite, which meant I could capture the story from both sides — something I always love to do.

The bridal prep suite was calm but full of excitement. Mollie was surrounded by her closest friends and family, laughter filling the room as hair and makeup came together. Her details were delicate and timeless — beautifully chosen florals in warm autumn tones, subtle textures, and elegant accessories that tied everything together perfectly. The floral design was especially gorgeous: rich, earthy hues with soft blush tones and pops of burnt orange, perfectly echoing the season outside.

Over in the groom’s room, the vibe was a little more chaotic — but in the best way. Dan and his groomsmen were in great spirits, full of banter and jokes, the kind of laughter that sets the tone for the rest of the day. There’s always something honest and unfiltered about capturing these moments — cufflinks being fastened, ties being re-tied, and those last deep breaths before heading to the ceremony.

The Ceremony

The ceremony itself was filled with emotion and personality from start to finish. One of my favourite moments — and one that had everyone in stitches — was when Dan’s two best men made their entrance as “flower boys,” confidently striding down the aisle and scattering petals like pros. It was completely unexpected, and it set the tone for the rest of the day: fun, light-hearted, and totally true to Mollie and Dan.

As Mollie walked down the aisle, the room softened into that beautiful hush — the kind where you can feel every emotion in the air. The way they looked at each other said everything.

The ceremony was heartfelt, simple, and filled with genuine connection — exactly how a wedding should be.

Autumn Wedding at Crockwell Farm Portraits Around the Farm

After the ceremony, guests spilled into the courtyard for drinks, laughter, and warm autumn air. Crockwell Farm has this incredible balance between elegance and countryside charm — the perfect backdrop for documentary photography.

We wandered the grounds for portraits, keeping everything relaxed and natural. Mollie and Dan were such a joy to photograph — constantly laughing, teasing each other, and never taking themselves too seriously.

We started along the driveway, lined with turning leaves glowing in soft October light. Then under the willow tree, where the dappled sunlight filtered through in the most romantic way — just the two of them, calm and content in the middle of all the excitement. And finally, some portraits in front of the farmhouse, which always feels so timeless and quintessentially Crockwell.

Every image from that part of the day felt full of movement and emotion — no forced poses, just two people soaking up every second.

Evening, Sparklers & Dancing

As the sun dipped and the light faded, the courtyard came alive with sparklers. Guests gathered in laughter, holding their sparklers high as Mollie and Dan walked through, surrounded by glowing light and cheers. It was the kind of moment that looks cinematic but feels completely real — one of those frames that tells an entire story.

Then came the dance floor, and what a party it was. From the very first song, the floor was packed — wild dancing, drinks in hand, laughter everywhere. It’s those scenes that I love capturing most: the carefree, unfiltered moments when everyone forgets about the camera and just lives.

Everywhere I turned, there were stories unfolding — friends hugging, parents beaming, and the newlyweds right in the middle of it all, laughing harder than ever.

Reflections

Mollie and Dan’s day at Crockwell Farm was everything a wedding should be — personal, joyful, and bursting with love. From the heartfelt morning moments to the sparkler finale and the non-stop dancing that followed, it was a day that felt completely, authentically them.

For me, it was such a privilege to document their story in a way that felt true — no stiff poses, no forced moments, just genuine emotion and connection.
